Updated over 5 months ago

Adding Strainers, Crossovers, and MGPS Systems

  1. Click the Internal Systems Setup Tab

  2. On the Vessel Diagram, click the seachest that you want to start with

  3. Identify if the Seachest is Associated with a Crossover

    • Check if the selected seachest is connected to a crossover

    • If it is, identify which seachest the current seachest connects to via this crossover.

    • Provide a name for the crossover

  4. Identify Primary Strainers (if Any)

    • Determine if there are any primary strainers in this seachest.

    • If present, indicate how many primary strainers there are

    • Name the primary strainers

    • Specify the maintenance schedule for cleaning the primary strainers

  5. Identify Secondary Strainers (If Any)

    • Check if there are any secondary strainers.

    • If secondary strainers are present, name them and indicate their cleaning frequency.

    • Name the secondary strainer.

  6. Check for Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS)

    • Determine if there is a Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) installed on the seachest.

    • If yes, select the type of MGPS system from the dropdown menu.

    • Enter the manufacturer's name of the MGPS system.

  7. Answer MGPS System Questions - Refer to MGPS User Manual

    • Use the MGPS manual to answer the following questions about your onboard MGPS system. E.g For an electrolytic MGPS, specify how many copper, aluminum, or iron anodes are installed in the seachest, and enter the corresponding amp settings for the anodes. If an anode type (e.g., iron) is not present, enter "0."

  8. Save and Proceed

    • After filling in the MGPS details, click “NEXT.”

  9. Fill in Details for Connected Seachest (If Applicable)

    • If the seachest you were working on in previous steps is connected to another seachest, you will automatically be prompted to fill in the strainer and MGPS details for the connected seachest.

    • Indicate any primary or secondary strainers connected to the second seachest, name them, and provide their cleaning schedules.

    • Indicate whether an MGPS system is installed on the connected seachest as well.

  10. Re-use Data (If Applicable)

    • If the second seachest has the same anode structure as the first one, you can click "Re-use Data." This can also be applied to all other seachests onboard.

    • Select the vessel you want to copy details from

    • and the seachest name.

    • Map the strainers you want to copy details from

    • Click "Reuse" to auto-populate the data.

  11. Repeat for Other Cooling Elements

    • Repeat the process of filling in details for all cooling elements (Seachests and Box coolers) as needed.

Box Cooler Details will just be about MGPS info installed

  12. Finish

    • Once all information is entered, click “Finish.”
